QuestWord is designed for children ages 6–12 and complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This notice explains, specifically for parents and guardians, what we collect from a child profile, how we use it, and how to review, correct, or delete it — a more detailed companion to our general Privacy Policy.
A child profile can only be created by a parent or guardian who has already created and verified their own adult account (email verification plus payment-method-on-file for any paid plan). A child never signs up independently, and a child profile is never accessible outside a parent-controlled account.
A display name and avatar selection chosen by the parent (never a real name, photo, or contact information), and gameplay data — matches played, words solved, XP, level, and streaks — used only to run and personalize the game. We do not collect a child’s location, contacts, or any free-text input: in-match communication is limited to a fixed set of preset phrases and emoji, so a child can never type or send arbitrary text to another player.
Solely to operate gameplay (matchmaking, progression, rewards) and to keep the game safe (moderation, blocking). We never use a child’s data for targeted advertising, and we never sell it to third parties or data brokers.
A parent can, at any time, from the Parent Dashboard’s Safety & Controls screen: review what data has been collected about their child, request a correction, or delete the child’s profile and associated data entirely. A parent can also revoke consent altogether by deleting the whole account — see Delete Account. For help with any of these requests, contact Support.
We use a small number of service providers (hosting, payment processing, crash reporting) to operate QuestWord, each bound by contract to handle any child data only as needed to provide their service to us — never for their own purposes, and never for advertising.
Questions about this notice or a specific child’s data can be directed to Support.
