Effective date: August 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how QuestWord (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when a parent or guardian creates an account, sets up a child profile, and plays. By using QuestWord, a parent or guardian agrees to the practices described here.
QuestWord is designed for children ages 6–12 and complies with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Only a parent or guardian can create an account and consent to a child profile being created — a child can never sign up on their own. We collect the minimum information required to run the game and never sell child data to third parties or use it for behavioral advertising. In-match communication is limited to preset phrases and emoji; children can never share free text, photos, or other personal details with other players. See our standalone COPPA Notice for full details on parental consent, review, and deletion rights.
From the parent account: email address, hashed password, and billing/subscription information (processed by our payment provider — we never store full card numbers).
From a child profile: a display name and avatar selection chosen by the parent (no real name, photo, or contact information is required or requested), and gameplay data such as matches played, words solved, and progression, used only to run and personalize the game experience.
Automatically: basic device and diagnostic information (app version, crash reports) used to keep the game running reliably — not used for cross-app tracking or ad targeting.
To operate matchmaking, progression, and rewards; to process subscription billing; to respond to support requests; and to keep the game safe (e.g. moderation of preset in-match phrases, blocking abusive players). We do not use child data for targeted advertising, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.
Service providers who help us run QuestWord (hosting, payment processing, crash reporting) under contractual confidentiality obligations, and law enforcement or regulators only when legally required. We do not share child data with advertisers.
A parent can review, export, or delete a child’s data at any time from the Parent Dashboard’s Safety & Controls screen. A parent can also delete the entire account — see our Delete Account page — or contact Support for help with any privacy request.
We retain account and gameplay data only as long as the account is active, or as needed to comply with legal obligations. Deleting an account removes associated child profile data, subject to a short backup retention window for disaster-recovery purposes.
If we make a material change to this policy, we’ll notify parents by email and update the effective date above before the change takes effect.
